Founders Office - Tech - Equity
Compensation: ₹2.4L – ₹2.4L • 1.0% – 3.0%
Build the platform you would trust to buy a home in a place you love.
A second home should be something to look forward to. Buying one too often means piecing together scattered information, checking claims yourself, and navigating unfamiliar rules. Avacasa exists to make that decision clearer. We are looking for a founding engineer to help turn a live product into the trusted platform for second-home ownership.
The opportunity A villa by the sea. A farm in the hills. A place to return to, away from the city. The appeal is easy to understand. The purchase is harder. Buyers need to compare locations and properties, understand what they would actually own, and work out the full cost. Today, those answers rarely come together in one place. We are building that place.
Avacasa started in India and is already live in international markets. Our platform is in production, serving real customers. The next chapter is to connect discovery, comparison and ownership into one coherent experience, from the first search to the keys and beyond.
The ambition is larger than any one market. People now buy second homes across states and across borders, and they deserve the same clarity wherever they buy. We intend Avacasa to be where that decision is made, in India and around the world.
Your role You will work directly with the founder and own the technology end to end. This is a hands-on role: you will write code, make architectural decisions, operate the product, and help decide what we build next.
You will: • Build the core experience. Help buyers explore destinations, compare homes, and understand ownership, costs and the information behind each listing. • Own what ships. Take features from an early idea through implementation, release and ongoing operation. • Build trust into the foundation. Make security, reliability and clear information part of how the product works. • Use AI with judgement. Use it to accelerate development and create useful product experiences, with clear standards for accuracy and quality. • Make the trade-offs. Decide where speed matters, where more care is needed, and how to keep the platform understandable as it grows. • Shape the team. Establish engineering practices and help hire the people who join you.
We believe a small team working well with AI can build an exceptional product. Your job will be to turn that belief into software people can depend on for a major financial and personal decision.
What you bring You have built and operated products that people use. You know that shipping a feature is only part of the job; keeping it working well matters just as much. You are comfortable across the stack and willing to work through unfamiliar problems. You can move quickly with incomplete information, explain your decisions clearly, and change your mind when the evidence changes. You think about the user, the cost and the consequences of a technical choice. You know when a simple solution is enough and when a shortcut will become expensive. You use AI actively and critically. You check its work, understand its limits, and take responsibility for the result. Above all, you want the scope and accountability of building an early company: working closely with the founder, making consequential decisions, and staying close to the details.
Why join • Meaningful technical ownership. Shape the architecture, product and engineering culture from an early stage. • A close partnership with the founder. Work directly on the decisions that determine what Avacasa becomes. • A live starting point. Build on a product already in production, with real customers and international reach. • Room to grow with the company. Start as a hands-on builder and help build the engineering team as the business grows.
The details • Location: Remote or Bengaluru • Compensation: Basic Salary + Meaningful Equity
Tell us about a product you built, the decisions you owned, and the hardest problem you solved to keep it working. We are interested in what you did, what you learned, and what you would do differently.
