Founding Engineer & Tech Lead: Help Us Fix How America's Retail Stores Restock

Compensation: $12k – $15k • No equity

**About Wholesale Hub ** Independent stores in the US, like bodegas, corner stores and small grocers, still restock by phone calls, texts and PDF price sheets. Wholesale Hub puts their distributors in one place, so a store owner can buy from several suppliers in one checkout at real wholesale prices.

We launched in May 2026 and we're scaling quickly. A new supplier is bringing 75 of its retail locations onto the platform. We start raising our first round within the next three months, and we're building this company for the next ten years and beyond.

**The role ** You'll be our first senior engineer and the leader of our engineering team. I own product and customers. You own how we build.

• Lead our two engineers day to day. Plan the work, review the code, unblock people, raise the bar.
• Run the engineering process: priorities, tickets, releases. When something keeps breaking, you fix the process behind it.
• Turn product ideas into shipped features, and push back when an idea is wrong.
• Build our smart ordering features, which help a store owner figure out what to reorder, from whom, and when.
• Bring practical AI and machine learning judgment to what we build.
• Help hire and shape the team as we grow.

**Who you are **

• A leader first. You like making other engineers better, and you've done it before.
• 5+ years building web products, with real product or project management experience.
• A solid understanding of AI and machine learning. You don't need to be a researcher. You need to know what's going on under the hood and when a model is the right tool.
• Comfortable in TypeScript, Next.js and Postgres, or able to get there fast. We also use Supabase, Stripe and Vercel.
• Already using AI coding tools like Claude Code or Codex every day.
• Clear written English, and 2 to 3 hours of overlap with US Eastern mornings.
• Someone who genuinely loves building and wants the startup ride.
