Compensation:This position offers a guaranteed weekly minimum against commission, whichever is higher. Compensation is commission-based, not a base salary plus commission.

Position Overview

WeareseekinganexperiencedOutsideSalesRepresentativewithaprovenbackgroundinflatbedfreightbrokeragesalesandanestablished,transferablebookofbusiness.

Thisisarevenue-producingsalesrole,notanentry-levelortrainingposition.Theidealcandidatehasdirectrelationshipswithflatbedshippers,ahistoryofgeneratingconsistentgrossprofit,andtheabilitytobringovercustomerrelationshipsandbeginproducingrevenuequickly.

Candidateswhoseexperienceisprimarilyindryvanorrefrigeratedfreightwithoutsubstantialflatbedbrokeragesalesexperiencewillnotbeconsideredastrongfit.

Key Responsibilities

• Developnewbusinesswithdirectshippersrequiringflatbed,open-deck,step-deck,Conestoga,oversized,orspecializedtransportation.

• Buildandmanageaprofitablebookofbusinessthroughprospecting,customeracquisition,andaccountdevelopment.

• Leverageexistingshipperrelationshipstogeneraterevenuequickly.

• Conductoutboundprospectingthroughcoldcalling,emailoutreach,referrals,networking,andindustryconnections.

• Identifyfreightopportunities,developcompetitivepricing,andnegotiateprofitabletransportationsolutions.

• CollaboratewithOperationsandCarrierteamstoensurereliablefreightexecution.

• Maintainstrongcustomerrelationshipsthroughconsistentcommunicationandservice.

• Expandexistingaccountsbyidentifyingadditionallanes,facilities,andtransportationneeds.

• Maintain an active sales pipeline and track revenue, gross profit, and account growth.

Requirements

• Provenexperienceinfreightbrokerageorthird-partylogisticssales.

• Direct,substantialflatbedoropen-deckfreightbrokeragesalesexperienceisrequired.

• Anestablishedbookofbusinesswithcustomerrelationshipsthatcanrealisticallytransfertoanewbrokerage.

• Demonstratedsuccessgeneratingconsistentweeklyormonthlygrossprofit.

• Strongunderstandingofflatbedequipment,pricing,capacity,freightlanes,andmarketconditions.

• Experiencedevelopingdirectshipperrelationshipsandclosingnewbusiness.

• Abilitytogeneraterevenuequicklywithoutextensivetraining.

• Strongprospecting,negotiation,communication,andrelationship-managementskills.

• Abilitytoworkindependentlyinaremotesalesenvironment.

• Comfortablebeingmeasuredagainstgross-profitandaccount-growthtargets.

PreferredQualifications

• Existingrelationshipswithmanufacturers,steelcompanies,lumbercompanies,constructionmaterialsuppliers,equipmentmanufacturers,orindustrialshippers.

• ExperiencedevelopingflatbedfreightbusinessacrosstheEastCoastorSoutheasternUnitedStates.

• Provenhistoryofbringingcustomerrelationshipsoratransferablebookofbusinesstoanewbrokerage.

• Experiencecoordinatingdispatchorcarriercoverageinadditiontosales.
