Summary

The remote automotive technician role is a remote, diagnostics-focused role ideal for candidates with experience as a remote service technician or dealership-level diagnostician. This position supports partner repair facilities and internal teams in diagnosing vehicle concerns, guiding repair strategy, and ensuring warranty compliance. You’ll work in a fast-paced, fully remote environment that bridges technical knowledge with real-time repair execution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create initial repair plans prior to customer appointments by reviewing submitted DTCs, vehicle symptoms, and customer complaints. Determine likely causes and recommend next diagnostic or repair steps.
-Support field technicians and partner shops in executing complex repairs, including module programming, HV system handling, and ADAS calibrations.
-Engage directly with partner shops through RepairWise’s electronic RO system—document findings, provide repair direction, and ensure timely status updates within the platform.
-Work closely with remote service advisors to align on repair strategy, customer communication, and documentation accuracy.
-Ensure repairs follow OEM warranty guidelines and field actions. Document and flag any non-compliance or deviation.

    Qualifications:
-3–5 years of automotive diagnostics experience (including dealership or remote service technician roles)
-Strong understanding of DTC diagnostics, CAN bus systems, and module programming
-Comfortable working in digital platforms and remote diagnostic environments
-Excellent written communication and documentation skills
-OEM-specific training and/or ASE certifications preferred
-Experience with VinFast, Tesla, or similar EV platforms is a plus
