The Role
Tru7 Plant is looking for a Plant Service & Breakdown Advisor to join our team remotely from South Africa.
You will be the main point of contact for plant breakdowns, servicing and telematics across our UK fleet, working closely with our UK-based fitters and engineers, operators, manufacturers and equipment suppliers.
This is a remote coordination and technical support role – there is no hands-on fitting required.
Key Responsibilities
Act as the main contact for all plant breakdowns and service requirements.
Log, prioritise and coordinate breakdowns across the UK fleet.
Work closely with Tru7 UK fitters and engineers to arrange repairs and engineer attendance.
Liaise with manufacturers, dealers and suppliers for technical support and warranty issues.
Monitor plant telematics, machine hours, alerts and service intervals.
Coordinate routine servicing and preventative maintenance.
Provide engineers with accurate machine, fault and service information.
Track outstanding repairs, parts and maintenance requirements.
Maintain accurate breakdown and service records.
Identify recurring faults and escalate reliability issues.
Help reduce machine downtime through proactive maintenance and communication.
About You
We're looking for someone with experience in heavy plant, plant hire, construction equipment, engineering, fleet or workshop environments.
You'll need to be:
Technically minded with a good understanding of heavy plant.
Highly organised and able to manage multiple live issues.
Calm and confident when dealing with breakdowns.
A strong communicator with engineers, operators and manufacturers.
Comfortable using telematics and digital systems.
Proactive and persistent when chasing repairs and solutions.
Able to work independently in a remote environment.
Confident working with UK-based teams and suppliers.
A hands-on plant or mechanical background would be advantageous, but you will not be required to carry out physical repairs.
