Technical Product Lead (Contract, Part-Time)
Compensation: $14k – $30k • No equity
ORFF Maestra LLC is an Oakland-based education technology company building an assessment reasoning and training platform for school-based speech-language pathologists. The platform implements TTL-MSM, a decision framework for the disorder-versus-difference determination in school eligibility evaluations. We are preparing a U.S. Department of Education SBIR Phase IA proposal, with a university research lead at Baylor University.
The role: be the bridge between a written clinical specification and the engineering. Before submission, help define the prototype's scope and build plan, about 5 to 10 hours, unpaid. If funded, lead the build at about 5 to 8 hours a week over nine months, turning the spec into requirements, working day to day with the developer, and keeping the build on schedule.
You bring: experience guiding a product from written requirements to a working prototype (as a product manager, program manager, product owner, or technical lead); translating between subject-matter experts and engineers; and enough technical fluency to work closely with engineers. Usability testing and ed tech or health tech experience are a plus.
Compensation: $75 to $100 per hour, contingent on award. Roughly 180 to 300 hours over nine months. Remote, U.S. only (U.S. citizen or permanent resident).
