SpaceX was founded under the belief that a future where humanity is out exploring the stars is fundamentally more exciting than one where we are not. Today SpaceX is actively developing the technologies to make this…
As a Merlin Propulsion Engineer at SpaceX, you own engine hardware and software from first build through flight and re-flight, driving design, test, and operational changes to improve Merlin reliability and performance. You work hands-on with propulsion hardware, lead test campaigns, and collaborate across production, launch, avionics, and software teams.
Designs, operates, scales, and automates high-performance computing infrastructure for SpaceX’s Silicon Engineering team, supporting chip development for Starlink satellites. Day-to-day work includes managing clusters and services, infrastructure as code, CI/CD pipelines, observability, and automation for silicon simulation workflows.
Manages server, HPC, storage, and network infrastructure (including Infiniband) for SpaceX's Raptor engine team, deploying and optimizing engineering applications such as ANSYS and StarCCM+ to accelerate rocket engine development.
Develops and optimizes SpaceX's in-house multi-physics simulation engine for manufacturing processes such as casting and additive manufacturing, using C++, Python, and ML/AI to support programs like Raptor and Starship. Based in Hawthorne, CA; not remote.
Develops software tools and workflows to support Starship's thermal and fluid systems analysis, automating engineering processes and deploying them to the analysis community. Uses Python, JavaScript, Rust, and simulation tools like MATLAB and ANSYS to improve spacecraft design iteration.
