Forward Deployed Engineer

Compensation: $85k – $110k CAD

What We're Looking For

We're looking for an engineer who wants to sit right where our product meets our customers. You'll work hands-on with the brands, agencies and growth teams using our agents, turning their messy, real-world problems into working systems on top of our platform. You'll thrive here if you like writing code and talking to customers in the same day, and you'd rather ship a fix than file a ticket.

You'll be deploying and extending two of our growth agents:

  • RedRover: helps companies get cited by LLMs and rank across Google, ChatGPT, and forums, using AI personas, keyword and competitor monitoring, and content generated at scale.
  • Echos: mass-distributes short-form video across social platforms, managing fleets of profiles and the video pipeline behind millions of views.

This is a high-ownership role. You will not be handed tickets. You will be handed customers, and their outcomes will be yours.

Compensation Range: C$85,000–C$110,000

Key Responsibilities

  • Own customer deployments of RedRover and Echos end to end: onboarding, configuration, launch, fulfillment, and ongoing tuning until the customer hits their goals
  • Work directly with customers to understand their workflows, then scope and build the custom integrations, scripts, and automations they need
  • Build and tune customer-specific AI personas, prompts, and content pipelines so output matches each brand's voice and targets
  • Write production code across the stack (TypeScript, Python, Postgres) to close gaps between what the product does today and what a customer needs
  • Debug live issues in customer environments, including failed jobs, queue backlogs, browser automation breakages, and platform-side changes
  • Turn patterns you see across customers into product feedback, reusable tooling, and features shipped back into the core platform
  • Run technical demos and walkthroughs, and be the engineer customers trust to tell them what's possible and what's not

Tech Stack

You'll be working across:

  • Languages: TypeScript, Python
  • Backend: Node.js, REST APIs, webhooks, background workers and job queues
  • Database: PostgreSQL
  • Frontend: React / Next.js, Tailwind
  • Automation: Playwright
  • AI: Frontier model APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google) and open-source models (Llama, Qwen, Mistral), plus prompt engineering, structured outputs, and evals
  • Integrations: Customer and third-party APIs, CRMs, analytics, and social platform APIs
  • Infrastructure: Docker, AWS, CI/CD

You don't need every one of these on day one. You do need to be the kind of person who picks up the missing ones fast, often while a customer is waiting.

You Might Be a Good Fit If You

  • Have 1–2 years of professional experience building and shipping production software, ideally in a customer-facing or solutions role
  • Are comfortable in TypeScript and Node.js, including building and consuming third-party APIs
  • Are comfortable with Python, particularly for scripting, scraping, automation, or data and AI workloads
  • Have working knowledge of PostgreSQL and can write and debug the queries you need without hand-holding
  • Have a solid working understanding of LLMs: prompt engineering, context management, structured outputs, token and cost tradeoffs, and where models fail
  • Communicate clearly with non-technical people and can explain a tradeoff to a customer without jargon
  • Can debug systems you didn't write, under time pressure, and stay calm when something breaks in front of a customer
  • Can navigate ambiguity and are product-oriented, focused on what the customer actually needs rather than waiting for a perfect spec

You Might Be a Great Fit If You

  • Have startup experience and/or have launched side projects / SaaS businesses publicly
  • Have worked in a forward deployed, solutions engineering, or technical consulting role
  • Have hands-on experience with SEO, social media growth, or content marketing tooling
  • Have built agentic systems: tool use, orchestration, retries, and failure handling
  • Want to eventually launch your own startup

The Team We only hire the best. Our team consists of:

  • Advisors that run 7 & 8 figure automation businesses
  • T1 VC-backed startups
  • ZFellows, Neo Scholars and Cansbridge Alumni
  • 7-figure exited founders

How to Apply Send us your resume along with links to anything you've built: GitHub, side projects, launched products, or an integration you hacked together for a customer that you're unreasonably proud of. We care far more about what you've shipped (and who you shipped it for) than where you've worked.
