Management Consultant- Engagement Lead
Compensation: ₹20L – ₹30L • No equity
About the Role Revenue Optics builds inside sales teams for private equity backed US distributors and industrials companies from concept to a fully staffed, producing team. As a Management Consultant you run these builds. You work directly with client CEOs, CROs, and PE sponsors, own the project plan, solve the problems that come up, and direct Revenue Optics internal resources to deliver. A typical engagement: a $900M industrial distributor owned by a PE firm has 4,000 customer accounts that no salesperson touches. You design the inside sales coverage model, define the roles, build the playbook and onboarding with our content team, work with our recruiting team to staff it, set up the operating cadence and CRM governance, and run the steering committee meetings with the client executive team until the engine produces. This role is the closest thing in India to running a US consulting engagement end to end with full client ownership. It is an engagement lead role with hands on delivery: you lead the project and the client relationship, and you also personally produce a share of the work product (analysis, decks, plans) rather than only directing others. There is no leverage pyramid beneath you to hide behind. You will also manage the firm's Data Scientist as a direct report, directing their analytical work into your engagements. What You Will Own • Engagement leadership: run inside sales buildout projects from kick-off through fully staffed team, owning timeline, workstreams, and client communication • C-Suite problem solving: structure ambiguous client problems, build the analysis, form a recommendation, and defend it to CEOs and PE sponsors • Internal resource direction: brief and direct marketing (playbooks, decks, enablement content), data science (coverage and opportunity analysis), and recruiting (role scorecards, slates) to client deadlines • Deliverable production: executive-grade decks, steering committee readouts, operating model documents, and project plans at consulting firm quality • Operating cadence: weekly client scorecards, steering committee preparation, risk and issue management done equals documented What Success Looks Like • 90 days: running workstreams independently on an active engagement, producing clientready deliverables with minimal rework • 6 months: owning a full engagement with leadership oversight, client executives ask for you by name • 12 months: running engagements end to end, contributing to the firm's delivery playbook so the next consultant ramps faster What We Require • 5–9 years in management consulting, sales effectiveness consulting, or commercial program leadership serving US or global clients • Demonstrated client-facing ownership: led workstreams or engagements, presented to senior executives, managed client relationships not just back-office analysis • Sales or commercial domain: go-to-market, sales force effectiveness, revenue operations, sales transformation, or having built or run sales teams • Structured problem solving and executive-grade deck and document production • Project leadership across multiple workstreams and contributors with hard deadlines • Sustained US shift commitment: 7am–4pm Central (approx. 5:30pm–2:30am IST) Strongly Preferred • Sales force effectiveness or commercial excellence consulting background (e.g., ZS Associates, MBB and Big 4 commercial practices) • Experience at firms that build or run outsourced inside sales programs for US clients • Exposure to private equity sponsors or portfolio company work
