Compensation: €54k – €120k • No equity

We’re looking for a Senior Quantum Engineer to join our Emerging Tech team, where we create rapid proofs of concept to test hypotheses on how frontier technologies impact business use cases. You’ll work on a modern, scalable stack with a strong emphasis on quantum hardware systems, optimization, and AI integration.

Project Overview The Emerging Tech lab generates prototypes and R&D assets, such as AI plugins, to drive firm-wide strategy. You will lead the charge in bringing quantum competency to the team, exploring applications in cryptography, simulation, and linear algebra.

About the Role As a Senior Quantum Engineer, you will bridge the gap between theoretical quantum mechanics and practical business applications. You will work in a remote-first environment, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to build assets that leverage both quantum annealing and gate-based systems.

Tech Stack Python, IBM Qiskit, D-Wave Ocean/Leap, QUBO, C++, Julia, IBM Q, Rigetti, Google Quantum, Linear Algebra, Quantum Error Correction, Quantum Cryptography, Quantum NLP, PyTorch, Keras, TensorFlow, Scikit-learn, Random Forests, CNNs, Gate-based systems, Quantum Annealing, Variational Quantum Algorithms (VQA), Shor’s/Grover’s algorithms.

What You’ll Do

  • Design and implement quantum algorithms (Shor’s, Grover’s, VQA) to solve complex optimization and cryptographic problems.
  • Develop rapid proofs of concept and R&D assets that integrate Quantum Computing with Generative AI and Data Science workflows.
  • Utilize D-Wave’s Ocean and Leap to formulate and solve QUBO problems for industrial-scale optimization.
  • Architect solutions across diverse hardware platforms including superconducting qubits and trapped ions via IBM Q, Rigetti, and Google Quantum.
  • Apply deep learning frameworks like PyTorch and TensorFlow to enhance quantum-classical hybrid models.
  • Translate complex quantum mechanics concepts, such as entanglement and superposition into functional, high-performance code.

Requirements

  • 2–5 years of professional experience, with at least 1+ year focused specifically on Quantum Computing or Quantum Cryptography.
  • Proven track record of research publications in highly reputed international journals regarding quantum simulation or linear algebra.
  • Deep expertise in Python and scientific computing (C++ or Julia) with a focus on computational efficiency.
  • Strong foundation in Machine Learning, including ensemble methods, CNNs, and deep neural networks.
  • Hands-on experience with IBM Qiskit and D-Wave’s quantum annealing ecosystem.

What do we offer you?

  • Attractive salary
  • Large freedom and real influence
  • No unhealthy competition, team approach to meeting challenges
  • Remote-first, flexible working culture
  • Company apartments in cool cities across Europe: work and enjoy a memorable getaway
