Compensation: $20k – $70k • No equity

Company: Ensemble Weather AI 📍 Locations: US | UK | Mexico | Canada (Remote / Hybrid Hubs) 💼 Employment Type: Full-Time

About the Role

We are seeking a Software Engineer who values growth and collaboration just as much as technical skills. In this role, you will help build the backend infrastructure powering our AI-native environmental intelligence platform, working with massive data arrays to feed our live ensemble simulations and AI inference engines.

Why This Role is Different

We prioritize a passion to learn and strong communication over a rigid checklist of technical responsibilities. While your day-to-day will involve building high-performance backend services, scalable data pipelines, and integrating AI models, we believe that text-stack details can be learned. We are looking for an engineer who asks great questions, collaborates seamlessly with cross-functional teams, and is genuinely excited to dive deep into complex climate tech and multi-dimensional datasets.

Qualifications

• Core Foundation: Strong grasp of computer science principles, algorithms, data structures, and object-oriented programming. • Programming: Proficiency in at least one modern language (Python, Java, C#, or similar). Python experience is a plus. • Web & Data Stack: Practical experience with backend frameworks, API design, Git workflows, and databases (e.g., PostgreSQL). • Growth Mindset: An active passion to learn new domain-specific technologies and a drive to constantly improve. • Team-First Communication: Ability to clearly explain technical trade-offs to both fellow engineers and non-technical stakeholders. • Location: Must possess valid work authorization in the US, UK, Mexico, or Canada.

Preferred Focus

• Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
