Technical Co-Founder / Founding CTO — Institutional Intelligence / AI Systems
Compensation: 10.0% – 20.0%
About Aeon Bloc
Aeon Bloc is an applied technology company developing ITII — Information Technology Institutional Intelligence, an architecture designed to give AI systems persistent institutional understanding rather than treating every interaction as an isolated prompt.
The company is past the idea stage.
We have developed the underlying architecture, built working AI systems, and are now expanding ITII across four commercial implementations:
- Norra Works — story development and narrative intelligence
- Property Solutions — institutional intelligence for real-estate operations
- SMB Solutions — organizational intelligence for small and midsize businesses
- Enterprise Solutions — institutional intelligence for complex enterprise environments
Our longer-term objective is broader than building another AI SaaS company. We intend to make the ITII architecture openly available, establish formal implementation standards and certification, and build commercial products that demonstrate what the architecture can do. We are now looking for the technical cofounder who wants to build that company with us.
The Role
This is not a contract developer position.
We are looking for a Technical Co-Founder / Founding CTO who will take genuine ownership of Aeon Bloc's technical architecture and engineering organization alongside the Founder & CEO.
You would inherit something already moving, but you would have significant influence over how it evolves.
You would own or co-own:
- Technical architecture and engineering strategy
- Production implementation of ITII
- AI/model orchestration and model-agnostic infrastructure
- Institutional memory and knowledge architecture
- Agentic and multi-agent systems
- Permissions, governance and human-approval architecture
- Cloud, private-cloud and eventual on-prem deployment
- Security and technical risk
- Engineering standards and code quality
- Technical hiring and team development
- Scalability across SMB and enterprise implementations
- Technical due diligence with investors and partners
You will also be expected to challenge assumptions. We are not looking for someone who simply turns specifications into code. We want a technical partner capable of helping determine what should be built, identifying architectural weaknesses, and making ITII stronger.
What We're Looking For
The ideal person has strong experience in several of these areas:
- Full-stack software engineering
- AI/LLM application architecture
- Python and/or TypeScript
- APIs and distributed systems
- AI model orchestration
- Retrieval, memory or knowledge systems
- Agentic systems and tool use
- Cloud architecture
- Data architecture
- Security and permissions
- Enterprise software architecture
- Open-source development
Experience with local models, Ollama, LangGraph, CrewAI, MCP, RAG, graph-based memory, vector systems or similar technologies is useful but not required.
Specific frameworks matter less than architectural judgment and the ability to learn quickly.
Who This Is For
You may be a senior engineer who has wanted to found something of your own.
You may be a technical lead tired of building incremental features inside someone else's roadmap.
You may already be experimenting with AI systems and have become frustrated by the limitations of context windows, stateless agents, fragmented memory and AI systems that don't actually understand the organizations they serve.
You should want ownership.
You should also be comfortable saying, “This architecture is wrong, and here's why.”
That matters here.
Where We Are
Aeon Bloc is currently pre-seed and founder-funded.
This is therefore an equity-first cofounder position with no salary before funding or sufficient operating revenue.
Founder equity is expected to fall within approximately 10–20%, with the final structure depending on experience, commitment, responsibilities and mutual fit.
Equity will vest.
We do not expect either party to make a permanent cofounder commitment based on interviews alone. We would prefer to begin with a defined working period using the existing architecture and codebase so both founders can evaluate communication, technical judgment, working style and trust before formalizing the relationship.
What Already Exists
You will not be joining someone with a pitch deck and an idea. Aeon Bloc already has:
- The ITII architectural foundation
- Working AI infrastructure
- Norra Works development
- Property Solutions development
- SMB Solutions architecture
- Enterprise Solutions architecture
- Extensive technical and product documentation
- Local multi-model AI development infrastructure
- Brand, company strategy and commercialization planning
- An active path toward investor fundraising
What is missing is the person who should ultimately own the technical side of the table.
Founder Relationship
The existing founder leads company vision, institutional-intelligence architecture at the conceptual level, product strategy, commercialization, brand, partnerships and fundraising. The Founding CTO will lead technical architecture, engineering execution, infrastructure and technical organization.
There will be overlap by design.
This should be a partnership between complementary founders, not a CEO issuing tickets to a CTO.
Why Aeon Bloc
Most current AI products are built around increasingly capable models.
We're working on the layer around them.
Models will change.
Providers will change.
Agents will change.
The institutional knowledge, governance, history, permissions, relationships and operating context those systems need to function responsibly inside an organization will remain. That's the problem Aeon Bloc is trying to solve.
If that problem interests you more than building another chatbot, we'd like to talk.
